Dear Friends and Benefactors,

      Greetings and best wishes to all of you!

We would like to invite you help us with a problem we are having in our mission work.  The stipends, which we receive from our parishioners for celebrating Holy Masses, are not sufficient to cover the basic needs of our life and work. For instance, the average Holy Mass stipend is 50 cents here. Knowing that a month has 31 days, we usually receive $15, and in very rare cases $50 for one month. Therefore you can easily picture how difficult it is to survive and work here. The Central Statistical Office points out that a family of four needs at least $500 every month to survive.  Of course, a priest lives by himself, without his immediate family. Nevertheless, in reality, the expenses are practically the same.  For example, gas, telephone, and water bill would be similar. Drinking water alone costs us $40 monthly, since it is unsafe to drink water from any other source here. Comparing our conditions with the life in the USA, you might imagine how difficult our situation can be at times. For example, it is common that people donate $10 for the celebration of a Holy Mass in the USA. How much this kind of donation would help us! How much peace, hope and time we would receive and could dedicate ourselves more to the pastoral-social work instead of looking for funds for our basic needs.

Therefore I invite and encourage those who visit the web site of our Foundation (and anyone else as well!) to consider our situation and help us if at all possible. I posted on our web page the following words: “HELP US TO HELP CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES”.  Those words describe our actual circumstances. There are no prospects for improvement of our situation in the near future. For that reason, I CORDIALLY ASK YOU for your assistance through intentions for Holy Masses. I will post at the web page of our Foundation the dates when your Mass will be celebrated. Currently there are two priests serving at the parish so that your Mass intentions will be offered in a very short time. If you decide to do so, please, follow these guidelines:

1. Please donate funds directly to our bank account, specifying the purpose of the donation as an intention for the Holy Mass: “Holy Mass for...”
2. Confirm the payment at my mailing or electronic address, providing the address to which we can send confirmation of celebrating the Holy Mass (the best would be your e-mail address).
