Mother's Day

04.06.2011

According to local tradition, Mother’s Day in Ecuador takes place always on the first Sunday of may. This year it was may 8th. We, however, wanted to refer to Polish tradition, and arranged a celebration of Mother's Day May 26th, as it is in Poland. The foundation was decoreted for the occasion. Food was prepared. We invited all the mothers of our children from the foundation to this party, a one day break away from the gray and often very hard everyday existance, and let them to feel special and important at least for this evening (it shouldn’t be that way!). It was a big fiesta specially for them! As expected, all the invited mothers appeared, so the foundation was crowdy. It all started at 7 pm with the official speeches. Hispanics have the ability to speak without an end, so many topics were discussed, ladies debated about the role of mothers in society, the pros and cons of motherhood ... With every moment, however, the atmosphere was getting more and more loose, and it eventually turn into an spontaneous bustling and cheerful harmider, how typical for all Latin Americans! There was loud music, lots of laughter and fun. We had little foundation’s pageant, for the best mother of them all (all are great to be honest!), and other contests with prizes.

All the time through the open door  all the curious children, were trying to find out what we were doing to their mothers, or just simply trying to get a candy. Fiesta ended in the late evening. Everyone were leaving in great moods!

We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all mothers around the world, late but sincere wishes! Good health, whole lotta love, and happiness from kids, just all the best!

And we're already getting ready to celebrate Children's Day!
